Gero McClellan joined the firm in 1998 and practices patent, copyright, and trademark law. Gero manages several firm clients, ranging from larger, and public companies to smaller, emerging companies. He performs portfolio reviews and provides other due diligence counseling, including rendering formal legal opinions related to validity and infringement. In this regard, Gero counsels clients regarding their freedom to operate, which includes consideration of domestic and international activities. Gero has also supported re-examination and litigation efforts involving intellectual property, and prior to joining Patterson & Sheridan, he practiced business litigation.
Gero’s patent practice emphasizes aspects of computer, electrical and mechanical engineering. In particular, he has extensive experience in the areas of databases, computer graphics, massively parallel computing systems, web applications, processor design, disk drives, semiconductor processing and memory devices. Gero is proficient in German.
