Intellectual property boutique law firm Patterson + Sheridan LLP has added James Bender as an associate in the Greensboro, North Carolina office of the firm. Patterson + Sheridan has five offices across the U.S., in Houston; Dallas; Palo Alto; Greensboro, North Carolina; Shrewsbury, New Jersey; and an international office in Yokohama, Japan.

Bender’s practice will focus on supporting the firm’s clients in the software and electronics fields, leveraging his industry experience to focus on the development of patent portfolios. He earned his B.S. in electrical engineering and computer sciences at the University of California, Berkeley and his J.D. at Columbia Law School. Prior to joining Patterson + Sheridan, Bender was with Latham & Watkins LLP in Washington, DC.
