Application Support and Training Specialist

Houston, TX

We are currently seeking an Application Support and Training Specialist in our Houston office. This position will be a member of a highly collaborative IT and administrative team that will provide direction in the design, implementation and support of business application systems throughout the organization. This position provides technical assistance and support for incoming queries through help desk requests and issues related to computer systems, including applications, and basic help desk troubleshooting. This role includes Employee Onboarding and Technology Training – and responds to queries either in person, over the phone, screen share, or by email.

This is a hands-on position that involves working in a team-oriented and client-centered environment. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate organizational, interpersonal, and strong communications skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 2010/2016, Help Desk, Microsoft Outlook, Word (forms, styles and templates), PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Acrobat required. Intermediate to Advanced skills in iManage (or other document management system), IPDAS, IPManager, Elite 3E, Windows 7/10 operating systems and other legal applications preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Application Support/IT Training – define, develop, diagram and document
  • Provide top-level customer service and proactive technical support to attorneys, legal assistants and administrative staff. This may include travel to other offices, as necessary, and working closely with Office Liaisons, and other technology staff
  • Effectively diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Log, track, and escalate technical issues within the help desk ticketing system
  • Promote the use of technology as a means of efficiency, while adhering to best practices and technology policy.
  • On-Call after hours support as assigned
  • Phone and in person support as assigned

A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or other related field required. Experience working in a law firm or professional services firm and familiarity with ILTA (International Legal Technology Association) best practices preferred.

IP Litigation Associate

Houston, TX

Patterson + Sheridan, LLP is seeking a Litigation Associate to join our growing IP Litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have excellent academic and professional credentials, as well as a minimum of 4-7 years of experience handling all aspects of intellectual property and/or patent litigation. A degree or background in engineering or the sciences and actual patent litigation trial experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with 5+ years of general litigation experience in a large law firm setting that demonstrate the ability to learn underlying technology will also be considered.
