Eric Madigan, Associate

Skilled patent attorney with electrical and systems engineering experience

Numerous inventors and manufacturers have turned to Eric Madigan to protect their intellectual property. As a patent lawyer and former engineer, Eric has hands-on experience working with the technology he defends. He prepares and prosecutes patents for a variety of wireless communication and software applications, including digital imaging, virtual/augmented reality, integrated circuits and more.

Eric spent nearly a decade working for a global aerospace and defense technology company as both an engineer and an intellectual property coordinator. From soldering circuitry and configuring device drivers, to working alongside chief engineers and in-house counsel, his firsthand industry experience gives him a deeper understanding of his client’s inventions.

Dedicated to knowing the most about each invention

Before drafting an application, Eric’s immerses himself in the inventor’s technology and researches all other work in its related field. His goal: Develop a comprehensive understanding of the technology to deliver a complete solution for intellectual property protection. Using this approach, Eric has helped a wide range of clients protect their IP, from securing new patents for major technology corporations to representing small businesses against patent trolls.

Eric considers possibilities that others may miss, and he is thorough and aggressive in pursuit of his client’s goals. His clients appreciate his responsiveness and his ability to relate to their technology and speak their language. Outside of the office, Eric enjoys fishing and cooking (and the occasional opportunity when those activities overlap).
