A chemical engineer with an appetite for learning
As a patent advisor, Kevin works with the firm’s attorneys to protect clients’ intellectual property, particularly semiconductors and electronics such as hard drives, memory devices and sensors. He’s hard-wired to crave new challenges, and he enjoys learning how various technologies work. Kevin is a quick learner who is skilled at dissecting inventions and understanding what sets them apart in order to make them patentable.
Before joining the firm, Kevin worked at Halliburton, monitoring and overseeing hydraulic fracturing jobs for the global oilfield service company. He would manage drilling operations in the field, advise on how to address downhole issues and communicate with customers about onsite operations. He quickly gained the respect of leadership at the Fortune 150 company and was assigned to independently run projects for a high-value client within only a few months of being hired.
Dedicated leader and mentor
Kevin graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He also received a Texas Business Foundations Certificate from the university’s McCombs School of Business. While at UT, Kevin served as the Campus Outreach Coordinator for the Longhorn Run, an annual campus tradition that brings together students, faculty, alumni and residents across the Austin area.
A fourth-degree blackbelt, Kevin spent more than a decade as a martial arts instructor. He’s a natural leader and mentored nearly a dozen employees while at Halliburton. In his free time, Kevin enjoys hanging out with friends, spending time outdoors and traveling, especially to discover the next best craft brewery.
