Mitchel Jones Promoted to Partner at Patterson + Sheridan

Mitchel Jones, a member of the Silicon Valley office of the intellectual property and complex litigation law firm Patterson + Sheridan, has been promoted to partner. Jones started as an associate working with Patterson + Sheridan before serving as a founding partner of the Artegis law firm and as in-house patent counsel for JUUL Labs. He returned to Patterson + Sheridan over a year ago as of counsel.

Jones brings to the firm more than 15 years of experience counseling clients over a wide range of technical disciplines and cutting-edge fields, including 3D computer graphics, virtual reality, computer networking, electronics and semiconductor technologies, artificial intelligence and machine-learning applications, medical devices, and complex software and information technology.

As an undergraduate in engineering, Jones focused on semiconductor physics, integrated circuit fabrication and device design, and optoelectronics. He conducted research in the areas of organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) and semiconductor thin film growth. He holds a B.S. in materials science and engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law.
