Patterson + Sheridan LLP, a leading technology, intellectual property and litigation law firm, announces the opening of a new office in Huntsville, Alabama, at 200 West Side Square, Suite 400, to provide comprehensive legal guidance and support to the firm’s clients and continue the expansion of the firm as a leading force in the technology and IP sectors across the country. The office will be staffed in the beginning by Huntsville Managing Partner Eric Moore, Counsel Eddie Kiessling and Associate Josh Noles.

Eric Moore focuses primarily on preparing and prosecuting patents in complex computer technologies, including machine learning, virtual computing, user interfaces, semiconductor technologies and telecommunications. Before joining Patterson + Sheridan, he was a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Moore earned his B.S., cum laude, in computer science at the University of Alabama at Huntsville and his law degree, summa cum laude, at Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, Florida.

Eddie Kiessling has broad experience in a wide range of industries, including Lidar systems, LED-based lighting solutions, semiconductor manufacturing processes, software, wearable devices, renewable energy and turbomachinery. He holds B.S. degrees in both mechanical engineering and electrical engineering from the University of Alabama at Huntsville and a J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Homewood, Alabama.

Josh Noles has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting patents in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, complex software, information technology, financial technology, and other internet-based applications. As a law student, he served as an extern with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, shadowing and assisting patent examiners. Noles earned his B.S. in electrical engineering at the University of Alabama and his J.D. at the University of Alabama School of Law.
