Ben Rothchild is an experienced attorney in the firm’s Houston office with a broad-based IP practice. He provides litigation, dispute resolution, trademark and brand protection, risk assessment and compliance services to protect his client’s intellectual property.
Ben is a Major in the Marine Corps Reserve and served ten years of active duty in the Marines. He became a trial attorney in 2016 and has since practiced as defense counsel, trial counsel and civil law counsel at Camp Pendleton, California, and in the nation’s capital. Ben also served as a Special Assistant to the U.S. Attorney, District of Maryland, responsible for adjudicating and prosecuting federal criminal cases on behalf of the U.S. Naval Academy.
Backed by his unique litigation experience, he is unafraid to go the extra mile when bringing his client’s matters to court.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance & Real Estate from Colorado State University and his J.D. from the South Texas College of Law. He also earned a Master of Laws in National Security & Foreign Relations Law from The George Washington University Law School.
Passionate about helping students prosper, Ben taught military and international law as an Assistant Professor at the Naval Academy for three years. He enjoys mentoring students and finds it rewarding to help them succeed and progress in their studies.
When not in the office, Ben enjoys spending time in and giving back to his community. He is a big believer in public service and seeks to make a tangible impact on whatever community he is living in. Ben is involved in several organizations, such as Team Catapult, which pairs seeing athletes with non-seeing athletes to compete in races together. He has previously volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Semper Fi Fund; and the National Stand-Down for Homeless Veterans. Ben also enjoys competing in triathlons, camping, hiking and sailing.
