Strategic preparation for a career in IP
Eric’s broad chemical engineering background combines elements of civil, mechanical, material and electrical engineering, giving him a solid footing when learning any technology a client places in front of him. He demonstrated this savvy as an undergraduate researcher specializing in water purification and membrane technology, not to mention his personal interest in AI and machine learning.
Eric earned his J.D. at the University of Houston Law Center, home to one of the best IP law programs in the nation. He expanded the depth of his IP knowledge as a legal extern for the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he worked with applications involving magnetic spinning drives and solid-state drives. This experience helped Eric understand the parameters within which examiners are working, as well as key factors to secure prompt approvals. In addition to his scientific and technical knowledge, Eric’s business-oriented mindset gives him a pragmatic, comprehensive approach when fiercely protecting clients’ IP.
Eric is an Eagle Scout and lover of spicy foods. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, dominating at local trivia and online gaming.
