This includes representing clients in cases involving breach of contract, government investigations, business fraud and more.

A talented IP litigator, McKenzie leverages her past trial experience to protect her clients’ valuable innovations and market positioning. With experience in criminal and civil litigation, she understands how a tiny detail can often be the turning point in a trial.

McKenzie interned with the firm during her 2L year of law school and honed her litigation skills. She worked on trademark protection matters, supported the firm’s partners with research and assisted in litigating a murder case as well as multiple sexual assault defense matters.

Crafting a compelling narrative in the courtroom

Leveraging her background in journalism, McKenzie is no stranger to using compelling storytelling during a trial to persuade a jury. Whether litigating an IP or criminal case, she simplifies her message to break down the case for the jury into bite-sized pieces. A strong communicator, McKenzie excels in researching and writing. She prioritizes listening to her client’s needs to provide informed counsel.

McKenzie holds her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Juris Doctor from Baylor University. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she was the Editor-in-Chief of Baylor’s Focus Magazine and was awarded “Journalism Student of the Year” by the school’s journalism faculty. McKenzie is a member of Judge Abner V. McCall American Inn of Court.

Outside of her legal practice, McKenzie is an avid traveler and foodie. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog and visiting her family in California. She has been to 35 countries (and counting!).
