Samie Leigh doesn’t back down from an
opportunity to learn something new, and that dedication and curiosity fuels her
legal practice. She helps clients secure patents for a variety of applications,
from polymers and synthetics to semiconductor technology and more. She has also
drafted patent applications for food and beverage compositions and packaging as
well as oil and gas tools.
Before practicing law, Samie spent more than
three years with roles as both a process and product technology engineer at ExxonMobil
Chemical Company. Her work focused on new product development for polymer
technologies — particularly improved polyethylene and polypropylene resins —
and she often worked alongside the company’s legal team through research and

solo entrepreneurs who have pitched on “Shark Tank.” Thanks to her unique
background, she understands the entire lifecycle of product development from
R&D to patentability to testing and marketing.

Samie served in the Air National Guard for six
years as an Emergency Management staff sergeant. She was deployed to Ali Al
Salem in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and again to Baghdad in support
of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
She also volunteers as a mentor with Big
Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Dallas and with Attorneys Serving the
Community, an organization of women lawyers and law students who support
non-profits in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Outside the office, Samie enjoys rock climbing
and running, from 5Ks and half-marathons to “Savage Races” and “Tough Mudders.”
She ran her first full marathon while deployed in Iraq.
