A mechanical engineer who values learning by doing
Vicente Romero is a junior technical advisor at Patterson + Sheridan. He supports the firm’s oil and gas services group, with a focus on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Vicente first began honing his technical skills as an undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Tyler. As part of his mechanical engineering curriculum, Vicente helped design a scaled-down version of a transporter capable of transporting granular material through an obstacle that included ramps, steps, sand and water. This project offered Vicente an inside look into the challenges and successes that inventors face during the design, testing and implementation phases of rolling out a new technology or product.
After graduating, Vicente began working as an application analyst with Detechtion Technologies. There, he assisted oil and gas clients with technical issues regarding initializing and maintaining gas compressor and process assets through monitored IIOT devices. With expertise in areas such as computer-aided design, AutoCAD and direct modeling, Vicente has managed a range of projects over the years that helped to impact the bottom line. He is certified as an Engineer in Training.
Vicente’s hobbies include exercising and spending time with his children at the museum, sporting events and the zoo.
