William Kelly is an associate in the firm’s Houston office. He prepares and prosecutes both foreign and domestic patent applications, with an emphasis on software and information technology. William worked as a summer associate with the firm in 2016 while completing his final year of law school. This not only gave him firsthand experience in drafting patent applications and preparing responses to office actions, but also allowed him to directly apply his technical background in a variety of fields.
Before law school, William studied computer science at The University of Arizona, where he explored a diverse set of topics such as computer networking, databases, operating systems and programming techniques for languages. He also spent time outside of the classroom contributing to open-source online programming projects and helping to beta test independently developed online games. Today, William fuels his passion for working with computer and internet-related technologies by helping some of the most influential companies in the software industry obtain patent protection.
In his spare time, William enjoys homebrewing and watching baseball. He also continues his involvement in the testing of independently developed online games.
