Patterson + Sheridan LLP is pleased to welcome William Ryann as of counsel. He is based in the firm’s Houston office.

Ryann brings 28 years of experience in intellectual property (IP) law to Patterson + Sheridan. His practice focuses on preparing, prosecuting and litigating patents and trademarks in the fields of oil and gas, medical devices, semiconductor technologies, industrial equipment and materials. Ryann also supports his clients in mergers and acquisitions, dispute resolution, risk assessment, compliance and licensing matters.

“We are pleased that William is joining the firm,” said founding partner B. Prior to joining Patterson + Sheridan, Ryann served as a senior patent counsel for a New England-based law firm, where he advised and protected patent portfolios for several multinational clients in the oil services, medical device and semiconductor fields, as well as research institutions.

“I’m thrilled to work alongside such a respected team of attorneys who are known for their thoughtful, client-focused approach to IP law,” Ryann said. “Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a desire to help inventors safeguard the work they’ve invested so much in. I’m looking forward to contributing to a team that shares the same sense of purpose.”

Ryann received his J.D. from Tulane Law School and his Bachelor of Science in biomedical science from Texas A&M University.
