Patterson + Sheridan Adds Four Attorneys, One Patent Agent
Patterson + Sheridan LLP is pleased to welcome four attorneys and one patent agent to the firm. Tyler Burdon, Tyler Southern, Tyrrell Ufot and Blake Wiseman join as first-year associates. In addition, Dalgis Barras joins as a patent agent.

Burdon is a former two-time Patterson + Sheridan summer associate who is based in the firm’s Houston office. He also previously clerked for a national full-service law firm. Burdon earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. Throughout law school, he was a research assistant for two intellectual property (IP) professors and served as the Chief Publications Editor for the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal.
Southern joins the firm’s Houston office and focuses his IP practice on chemical, oil and gas, electronics and semiconductor technologies. He is a former Patterson + Sheridan summer associate and intern and obtained his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. Throughout law school, Southern worked as a legal policy analyst for Colorado’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Ufot is a former Patterson + Sheridan summer associate who is based out of the firm’s Greensboro office. His practice focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, electronics and semiconductors. Ufot was also a summer associate for a large full-service firm and externed at a Cary-based data management company. He holds a J.D. from the North Carolina Central University School of Law. Throughout law school, Ufot worked for the NCCU School of Law’s Patent Clinic and volunteered at the school’s Wills Clinic.
Wiseman, also a former Patterson + Sheridan summer associate, is based out of the firm’s Huntsville office. He previously clerked for two firms in Naples, Florida, and also worked as a management and compliance intern for a global medical device company. Wiseman earned his J.D. from the Ave Maria School of Law. While in law school, he was the vice president of the Student Bar Association and was the publication manager for the Ave Maria Law Review. Wiseman was also a fellow in the Coach Rod Smith Business Law Institute and a finalist in the St. Thomas More and St. Thomas Aquinas Oratorical Competition.
Barras joins the firm’s Houston office. Her work focuses on supporting patent preparation and prosecution in the technical areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning, communications technologies, consumer products, electronics, semiconductor technologies and nanotechnology. Barras has more than seven years of research experience in neutron scattering studies and taught university physics for more than a decade. She holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Louisiana State University.
